Spring Valley High 'assault': Student slammed to floor and dragged by school police officer:

A video that shows a US school police officer violently dragging a young, black woman from her desk and on to the floor in a South Carolina classroom has prompted a shocked response.

The mobile phone footage shows a white policeman grabbing the student, throwing her several feet along the ground and dragging her into the corner of the room.

The school resource officer is heard saying, 'You're either going to come with me or I'll going to make you.' The exact background of the incident remains unclear.

Local broadcaster WIS reported that the woman had been asked to leave the classroom in Spring Valley High School but refused, after which the officer responsible for the school was called.

She was later arrested along with another female student for disturbing the peace, according to Lieutenant Curtis Wilson of Richland County Sheriff's Department, quoted in the WIS report.

The officer has been placed on administrative leave, CNN reported.

Superintendent of the school district Debbie Hamm expressed her concerns over the incident. Her authorities are working together with the police to investigate the violent arrest.

A group of parents have slammed the officers actions as 'egregious' and 'unacceptable', while social media erupted with criticism in response to the video which has gone viral.

A male teacher has died and two children are injured after a man 'wearing a Star Wars mask' armed with a sword carried out an attack at a school in south-west Sweden on Thursday morning.

A second teacher was also injured in the attack, and has been rushed to hospital alongside the injured students, two boys aged 11 and 15.

The assailant entered the school in Trollhättan, north of Gothenburg, shortly before 10amCET and began attacking students and teachers with a sword or a large knife.

Lamar Odom Remains In Critical Condition After Being Found Unconscious At Nevada Brothel

Lamar Odom is reportedly still unconscious and breathing with the aid of machines, more than 12 hours after being taken to the hospital upon being discovered unresponsive at a legal brothel in Nevada.

The 35-year-old Odom, who last played in the NBA in 2013, arrived on Saturday at the Love Ranch in Crystal, Nev., about a 90-minute drive from Las Vegas. Brothel owner Dennis Hof told the Associated Press that Odom “just wanted to get away, have a good time and relax,” and that he seemed to be “happy.” Hof also told the Los Angeles Times that Odom appeared “somber” on Sunday, but was in good spirits otherwise.

Odom, who was staying at Hof’s home adjoining the brothel, ordered a bottle of cognac over the weekend but did not finish it by Tuesday. Hof said his employees claimed Odom was taking herbal Viagra, but did not see him use illegal drugs.

Employees saw Odom early Tuesday morning, but when they went to check on him around 3 p.m. they found him unconscious, and when they turned him over “terrible stuff came out” of his nose and mouth. According to a release from the Nye County Sheriff’s Office, at 3:15 they received a call from the Love Ranch’s media director requesting an ambulance. It arrived at 3:34, and Odom was taken to the hospital at 4:16. His condition was serious enough that doctors wanted to airlift him to a bigger hospital, but Odom was too large for the helicopter and was driven instead to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas.

Sunrise Hospital has not released any information on Odom’s condition, butTMZ reported early this morning that Odom is comatose and on a ventilator, and is having serious problems with his heart, lungs and kidneys. E! News says Odom’s condition is critical and that he never regained consciousness.

Odom’s life has been filled with tragedy. Born to a drug addicted father, he was raised by his grandmother after his mother passed away from colon cancer. His six-month-old son died from SIDS in 2006, and in 2011, while returning to New York for a cousin’s funeral, he was a passenger in a car accident that killed a 15-year-old boy. He’s long battled substance abuse problems, including at least one reported rehab stint. “Life is so fragile,” Odom told theNew York Times in 2006. “I’ve got so much to live for.”
